I am a Certified Primal Health Coach and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker where I specialize in Critical Incident Stress Management. Needless to say, I love to help people feel better about themselves!
Any client who has ever worked with me would say that I stress self-care: we cannot pour from an empty cup. In my free time, you can find me using my Mirror to exercise, walking my dog Jade, cooking and trying new foods, and spending time with my loved ones.
My Health and Wellness Journey
For many years, I experienced spells of low energy, chronic GI problems, brain fog, anxiety, and overall frustration with my body image. I tried several fad diets hoping that they would remedy my physical symptoms, but in all honesty, I really wanted the diets to heal my body image struggles. I used to count points and restrict food groups to stay "on track", but this depriving behavior would always result in having major "cheat meals". I mean, I earned it right? I used to believe that I had to earn my food rather than enjoy food for what it is: nourishment and fuel. I was not able to fully enjoy food without feeling guilty afterwards.
I felt very frustrated because I knew intellectually that food and eating were not supposed to be this stressful. I eventually tried a Low-Carb way of eating along with walking, but my weight still remained the same. I continued to grow even more frustrated. I was ready for a change, but I didn't know were to turn.
I heard about the Primal Blueprint through my kickboxing gym's 21 Day Challenge. I remember seeing groups of people doing it, and they looked leaner and happier. I wanted that! I did not know what all the Challenge would entail, but I was motivated to look and feel the same way. The 21 days were challenging, as it was a change from what I had been doing, but it was actually really intuitive. My clothes started fitting better. I lost inches, and I lost weight. Most importantly, I healed my physical symptoms and resolved my toxic relationship with food.
I continue to stick with the Primal lifestyle because I feel the best I have ever felt, and I perform my best in all areas of my life. I wanted to become a Primal Health Coach because I wanted to help others be the best version of themselves. My health transformation sparked a passion to help others on a holistic healing journey to vitality, confidence, and self-love.
I am most excited to coach clients on managing their stress by improving their eating habits, sleeping habits, exercise habits, and healing their self-defeating beliefs about food and health. I focus on healing mental health conditions naturally so that self-love is gained, while guilt and anxiety, are unnecessary stressors of the past.
Jade is my Primal companion. We enjoy soaking up Vitamin D and being device-free on our daily walks.
